Was planning to polish the dull cabinet but noticed that the finish is normally somewhat "flat" after seeing beneath grill trim and inside, so am going to leave it alone. Flattened the dents in grille as well as I could and because the aluminum was so worn/scuffed, tried Novus-2 (which isn't made for this) on it-an improvement, but still doesn't look that great. Very little time for radios with good weather and continuing family issues.ĭid get this disassembled last night and detail cleaned the cabinet pieces.

It had a somewhat rusty Panasonic battery inside and was very surprised that it still worked when I turned it on ! Decent performance, but volume a bit low probably due to bad electrolytic(s). Have seen these on Ebay, but didn't realize how small they were or how neat and well-made the front panel trim was. It was a very dirty, well-used little set in a vendor's $5 pile and immediately caught the eye. This is one of two radios that I bought yesterday at the IHRS meet in Kokomo, IN Friday-first time I'd ever found anything at a gathering that "tripped the trigger".
